Unfortunately, most of us talk a lot but we never get paid for it.

It’s surprising, isn’t it?

Look at this:

20% of the world’s people are millionaires. Out of them, about 99% are orators or speakers as well as authors. What do they do...? They talk! The more they talk, the higher they get paid. Also they don’t just talk but make sure their talks are put on paper.

80% of the world’s people manage the remaining 20% of the world’s wealth. They talk too much! The more they do that the highly impoverished they become. Since their talks lack content, they can’t be put on paper.

From the above, we will notice that not only do the millionaires control 80% of the world’s wealth, but they control 80% of their speeches as well. They talk! Yes, they talk, but succinctly and constructively.

Those who get impoverished also talk, but they talk gratuitously and excessively. The more they talk, the more unbridled their speeches get.

You see, there are no secrets or shortcuts to success. Your self-discipline and control over your speech and parlance will do the trick.

John Lyle Harrington once said, “Language has a large weight in classifying a man – infinitely more than dress. It exhibits his breeding and indicates his social status.”

Your talk, indeed, classifies you and determines to a larger extent, the status you’ll fit into in life. It shapes your personality and creates the kind of impression people have or will have about you. It brings out the real you.

Do you wonder why people get irritated, any time you open your mouth to speak? Check your speeches; they might be foolish, verbose or boring. Never speak your mind, mind your speech.

You might need to be reticent sometime; it will help. Even fools are considered wise when they keep quite. Speech is silver, silence is gold. Think about it!

Mind you, timidity is not reticence, it is merely stupidity.

May be just like me, you’ve been trying and still fighting with this bad habit of excessive talking. You wish God could take your voice so you could become dumb.

You always wish and wish, for your spirit is willing, but often you fail to remain silent for once. You’ve started hating yourself for this and you are unsure of your becoming who you’ve dreamt to be.

Any time you seem to have an iota of hope to put things right, a shadow of ambivalence casts itself on it; you get confused and feel like giving up.

NO! Not yet…

There’s a way!

I was once in your position. Through curiosity and being extremely critical, I became a talkative without knowing it. Though loved by many, indirectly, I was constantly notified of my bad habit which made me feel lonely and empty.

Out of shame and frustration, I started playing the defense; making excuses to justify my talking too much. This defensive game attitude gradually progressed into unnecessary lying. It never helped.

Seeing how badly I will be affected in the future, I sat myself down, did some assessments, and afterward resolved to change. Nothing will change if you don’t acknowledge the need for change.

A great poet, John Milton, also said, “To excuse our faults on the ground of our weakness is to quiet our fears at the expense of our hopes”

These are some little changes I made which you may need to consider as well.

- To begin with, say this words solemnly and affirmatively, ‘YES I CAN!’

- Learn a lesson from the Creator. Your ears were made opened but your mouth was made to close; quick with your ears, slow with your mouth.

- Be a good conversationalist. Listen more talk less but judiciously.

- Be laconic in speech.

- Accept criticism. Our enemies’ opinions about us might be right because they see us and we don’t see ourselves.

- Maintain daily and self-discipline

Make these changes and the shackles of loquaciousness will be broken off you.

THANK YOU FOR VISITING THIS SITE. If you’re not moving, you’re falling behind. You can’t be half-hearted or pathetic, if you want to be successful. You can’t succeed by quitting, because it is uncomfortable.

Thomas Edison once said, “Many of life failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they give up”.

Three things to have to persevere:

- Bravery: Fear is good, but not when it controls you. Someone else will discover you if you sit somewhere and go nowhere. Be daring enough to venture new projects.

- Tenacity: In life, people make way to those who push us aside. Starting is punishing; finishing is exciting. You must be stubborn to succeed. Don’t give up but give it time while persevering and persisting consistently. Life is either a daring adventure, or nothing!

- Strong-minded: Be certain about your venture. Indecisive people are like a blind man looking in a dark room for a black cat that isn’t there. Determination certainly leads to success.

How to Develop Bold Perseverance:

- Face your fears with faith in God

- Maintain mental discipline

- Push yourself forward when others have retired

Professionalism

Professionalism is one of the things you ought to have if you must succeed. Commit to keeping your word

2. Build consistence character for both private and public conduct

3. Master and replicate the processes for success. Success is a science, which incorporates an art and not an art on its own

4. Build a plan of succession for yourself. Succession does not take place when you die; it takes place while you are in position. Succession is difficult because it requires people who are ready to walk the path.

Unfortunately, most people are not ready to walk the path; they only want to enjoy the benefit of the walk. Success without a successor is failure.

Success has many fathers; failure is an orphan. Life is not sweet when you fail.

Inner Peace

True success is a product of inner peace – peace of the heart. If your vision is small, anything satisfies you.

To gain inner peace, you must:

- Faith: Walk by faith not by sight

- Righteousness: Have the righteousness of God

- Significance: Make your life significant by harnessing your God-given talents and potentials.

Honor God with your gifts, talents and influences.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR VISITING THIS SITE. There’s more to it than making money.

Mike McKinney tells it all:

“I saw having my own business as a way to achieve my goals – personal and financial. I’m not a static person. Life is not static. If you’re not moving ahead, you’re falling behind.

You people wanting to get something going must be willing to sacrifice. They must be willing to fail temporarily. You probably learn most from your failures. It gets down to attitude and approach. You have to set your mind and not let anything get in the way.

The question, must one posses a capital investment, depends on what kind of business you plan to go into. Some ventures require a huge capital investment. I had nothing when I started out. To say the least, it was a motivating situation!

What you need is a clear, concise, one-sentence idea. You have to get a workable idea. You have to educate yourself as to what you need to learn.

And you need to learn your business inside and out to be effective.

My strength in college was research. Awareness of your strength helps you know where to get the information you need – whether from people or from books. My library is filled with biographies and autobiographies.

You can learn so much from other’s experience and the pitfalls to avoid.

When I started, I didn’t know where my first pay check was coming from or really where to look for it. So I made phone calls and wrote letters to people or organizations that might need my service. Soon they started calling me.

By the way, I didn’t frame my first dollar – I needed it too badly.

Being responsible for my own business has been a character-building experience. I’ve learned things that I would have learned in no other way.

The responsibility forces a lot of introspection and self-criticism.

First, it takes perseverance. You need to take what you do seriously – a 100% commitment. Lasting success doesn’t happen overnight; it has to be earned. That takes time. You have to keep refining and improving yourself and your services.

I think the other side of the coin is resourcefulness, because there are plenty of times when you need flexibility and creative solutions to keep you in the game.

Success is not a point you reach; it’s a process, a way of thinking, a way of life. Success is dictated by certain universal laws and principles that have been in force since creation. And being laws, they apply to anybody. The better you tune your thinking to mesh with those laws the more successful you will be. It’s all learned.

There’s no substitute for hard work. Whether you’re working for someone else or yourself – hard work is always rewarded.

It’s also better to trade short-term success and profits for a firm foundation built over time. Money is important, sure, but if you take care of what needs to be done and give your clients real value, you don’t need to worry about making money. It’ll come!”

Well you’ve heard it all from the horse’s own mouth. Now you know you too can make it. You’re smarter and unique. You too can shine!

To your success... I Am Confused!Controlled Attention

A world so full of division can never be a home, so is a man with unbridled attention; he never gets to achieve anything in life and never gets any where as well.

Blubo, a blue-eyed, blonde, hairy dog had to learn its lesson the hard way.

One afternoon, Blubo went into the woods behind the house in search of food, for itself and the family. Fortunately, it bumped into heap of fresh bones, which could feed the family for weeks. Filled with joy mixed with surprise, Blubo quickly thought of informing the family to share in the joy. Just as it was about to embark on its decision, a shaggy-brown dog with long legs came to the scene. It was like, ‘”WOW!” Thank God!’ said ‘Hi’ to Blubo and then picked to of the bones.

Blubo, on seeing this, became so angry, barked and started chasing it. Blubo kept chasing till it couldn’t find traces of the shaggy-brown dog. After the chase proved futile, Blubo become very tired and hungry, with no option than to get back home. Unfortunately, Blubo could not find its way home. It wandered without food or water for seven days in the thick woods and grew very weak.

By divine intervention, a hunter came to the rescue. Took very good care of it and brought it safely home to its worried family. Blubo was grateful to the hunter and much happier to see the family safe.

It shared its experience in the wilderness, and had this advice to give: “It pays to be focused”

Remaining focused means: Following One Course Until Success. A man with focus, they say, never flops.

Like Blubo, many of us do not have or maintain FOCUS. We entertain unnecessary things to preoccupy us so much so that we never get significant things done; hence we end up achieving nothing.

Success can never be achieved through a divided attention. A person whose attention is not under control never lives a land mark in any field of endeavor; he becomes jack of all trades but master of none.

Things that distract attention:

- Greed: Grab all, lose all.

- Unforgiving: The one who hates gets hurt the most.

- Doubt: Ambivalence precedes indecisiveness.

- Lack of foresight: Lack of vision, makes people perish.

Try your best to avoid the sidetracks to your focus in life. Always make sure you get one thing done before starting the next and success shall be your closest companion.

THANK YOU FOR VISITING THIS SITE. Most of the time we think life is not fair. In that it has enriched some people and impoverished the others; which is not true.

Life is very fair; it gives out what you put into it. In fact, nature has made all humans equal – none was made poor nr rich. We’ve all been given 24 hours in a day, which indeed is an equalizer.

It is how these hours are put to use that determine your status in life.

What do you make of the aphorism, ‘the early bird catches the worm’? This is what budgeting time and money stands for – being on time. As a stanza from a famous poem I read said:

“Let us then be up and doing...

With a heart for any fate;

Still achieving, still pursuing,

Learn to labor and to wait”

Yes, be up and doing - always being on time. Doing things on time is one of the key ingredients we lack to succeed.

We don’t respect time. This disregard we have for time is not permitting it to give out its benefit, which is money, until we change our attitude towards it. We all want to be successful, right, but the question is, are we willing to do what successful people do?

Ask any successful person how they made it to the top, they will tell you, ‘Early to bed, early to rise!’

This reminds me of a rhyme I learnt at age five, which says: “Early to bed, early to rise; makes one healthy, wealthy and wise!”

Note the benefits it brings; health, wealth and wisdom. So you see there are no secrets in becoming successful after all.

“A little sleep, a little slumber; so shall your ruin come”, the book of Proverbs said. A person who does not value time is in no doubt a lazy person`. Laziness certainly progresses into foolishness. It is only a lazy person that sits and wishes for luck; which never comes.

Luck is more of a responsibility with success as benefit. It is only the prudent and industrious, who carries out responsibilities by laboring under constructive knowledge, becomes successful.

Let’s learn how to use our time profitably on ourselves and others. With some we spend our time; with others we invest it. Always be around those with whom you can invest your time so as to gain mutually from it.

Avoid people who often spend your time. Time wasted is lost; it can never be regained. Also, stop spending people’s time.

Time is a motivator. It tells you there is a beginning and an end to every thing in life. It goads you to act before darkness falls; constantly reminding you of the deadline ahead.

Since time is money, suffice it to say money is time. Just like time, money is like a seed; if you sow it and give it good nurturing, you will certainly reap its returns in thousand-folds.

A wise man once told his son, ‘Son, eat the fruit, never eat seed’.

Money is power. So long as power is capable of intoxicating and controlling a person, so does money. Majority of us have difficulty in controlling the way we use money. The fact is, it not easy but it is possible, once you set your mind to it.

Personally, I lost control of the usage of money at a point in time. I got to a stage when I became virtually broke, until I steadily followed a 7 Principles Strategy which got me back to my feet and brought me to stardom.

These seven(7) principles are:

- Appreciate money

- Tithe

- Invest/Save in your savings account

- Help others - Avoid extravagancy

- Delay gratification; avoid impulse buying

- Buy quality goods

THANK YOU FOR VISITING THIS SITE. Courage is not the absence of fear but the confrontation of it. The only way to overcome fear is to confront it.

Types of Fear:

- The fear of Failure: failure is not a defeat, it is only an event. The last time you failed was an opportunity to reinvent yourself. If you’re scared of doing things, you keep procrastinating. Learn to manage failure; the more you fail, the closer you get to succeed.

- The fear of Competition: Life is a competition; it is a race. To be outstanding, learn to build-up uniqueness – through the build-up of constructive ideas, confidence and above all, honesty. Start selling something that your competitors don’t have. Don’t run away from your competitors, for he who runs away from a fight will live to fight another day. Life is not a popularity contest; it is a contest.

- The fear of Competence: Learn to overcome the “I can’t do it” syndrome. The Bible confirms that you can do all things through Christ, who strengthens you. We often waste our time waiting for others to live up to our expectation. We must learn to declare our independence of people’s expectation. Never live to please people; please God and you’ll find fulfillment within and around you.

- The fear of Change: Most of us want to change our current status for the better, whereas we don’t want to change our ways of thinking, talking and/or acting. There are a lot of changes that must take place in your life if you want to find yourself in a new era. To see changes, one must acknowledge the need for change, which we must accept.

- The fear of the Unfamiliar: Anytime we have to do something new, we fear. If you want to move the world, then stop treading the same path and do something new. If you do common things you’ll become common and soon fade away; when you do unimaginable things, you’ll become exceptional and leave an indelible imprint on posterity’s mind.

- The fear of Critics: The fear of critics will only mean you not doing anything. Sometimes our enemies’ opinions about us might be right, because they see us and we don’t see ourselves. Dogs will always bark, monkeys will chatter and critics will always criticize. Accept criticism and do what is right.

Have Done With Fear

What is the solution?

First, realize that your feeling of fear is your heaviest burden. Talk to your subconscious. Listen to your subconscious. You will probably hear things like this: What you are most afraid of won’t happen. Act on it. Take courage from it.

Put fear out of your mind. Be positive. You want to work magic and you can work magic, if you determine to have done with fear.
To prove that you can work magic, you must show that you are not afraid. You have thought yourself into that fear with your mind. Run yourself out of it with your legs.

THANK YOU FOR VISITING THIS SITE.
